The business is paying. The room still has to be private.
Coaching for a leader your organisation is investing in, with objectives everyone agrees to and contents nobody else reads.
6 to 8 sessions / 90 minutes / Three-way scoping and closing review

Coaching gets signed off, then disappears
You approve it, the sessions happen somewhere out of sight, and what comes back is an invoice and a vague sense that it went well.
Meanwhile the leader is wondering how much of it reaches you, so they hold something back. Both problems have the same cause. Nobody agreed at the start what the work was for, or what would ever be shared.
A leader will only use the room properly if they know exactly what leaves it. So we decide that out loud, on day one, with everyone in the conversation.
What the organisation gets
Four things that make this different from signing off a block of sessions.
-
Agreed between the leader, you and me, so everyone is working towards the same thing rather than three versions of it.
-
Movement is reported against those objectives, at the level of themes, so you can see whether the investment is working without reading anything private.
-
Set at the start and held throughout. It is what makes the leader willing to be honest, which is what makes the coaching worth paying for.
-
We come back together at the end, look at what changed against what we agreed, and decide whether anything further is needed.
Worth being honest about
This tends to work
A leader the business is betting on
Someone newly promoted into a genuine stretch
A strong performer who is hard on the team
This isn't the right call
You want someone documented or managed out
The leader hasn't agreed to it
The situation needs mediation
Worth a conversation?
Half an hour, no preparation needed. If I'm not the right person, I'll point you to someone who is.
